How do I burn candles safely?

We are sticklers for some good candle ediqutte + care!

  1. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep lit candle in sight at all times!
  2. Never burn a candle on or near anything that might catch fire, like loose papers, fabric, bedding, books, drapes, decorations, etc. Play it safe and give your candle nice clear area to sit on.
  3. Keep lit candles away from drafts--open windows, air conditioners, vents, fans, etc.
  4. Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
  5. Extinguish the flame if it becomes too high or flickers repeatedly. Trim the wick and check for drafts before re-lighting.
  6. Always blow out your candle before you doze off to sleep!
  7. If you’ve created a large wax pool during your burn, blow it out gently to avoid wax splattering.
Are your candles clean?

Our candles are made up of the cleanest ingredients on the market. From our 100% US grown soy wax, to fragrances free from carcinogens, reproductive toxins, + other potentially hazardous chemicals, to our crackling wooden wicks, our candles are designed to ensure that you are burning safe candles in your home. Oh, + did we mention that our containers are chosen to be decor so that you can reuse them?! And we never test on our animal friends! Yep! Our candles are pretty + clean!

We work with the top global fragrance houses to develop and manufacture our scents, which contain both naturally-harvested and safe-synthetic ingredients. All of our fragrances are naturally paraben and phthalate-free, and we follow strict international safety standards and rigorous testing set by IFRA. We are Cruelty-free and formulated without: Sulfates SLS and SLES, parabens , formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, triclocarban, PTFE/PFOA, styrene, polyacrylamide/acrylamide, acetaldehyde, acetonitrile, methylene chloride, animal fats, oils, and musks, benzalkonium chloride, toluene, resorcinol, acetone, butoxyethanol, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, methyl cellosolve, methylisothiazolinone/ methylchloroisothiazolinone, mercury and mercury compounds (thimerosal), bisphenol A(BPA).

What are your expert candle burning tips?!?
  1. Make sure your first light liquefies the entire top layer of wax. Otherwise, you’ll be left with a “memory ring,” which causes the wax to tunnel rather than melt evenly.
  2. Wooden Wicks are happiest when at a very short (1/4 of an inch) height. After your first burn, trim the wick to the right length, ensuring a steady, ash-free flame.
  3. We recommend burning for no more than four hours at a time. And, when you get towards the end don’t burn all the way down: swap your candle for a new one when ½ inch of wax remains.
  4. Reuse your pretty containers! We choose our containers to be more than a candle...we want them to be pretty decor in your home. We’ve used our containers to hold pencils, makeup brushes, hair things or what have you. You’ll want to remove the remaining wax by either placing the candle in your freezer for a few hours or pouring hot water onto the left over wax and wiping it clean.
How long can i expect my candle to burn?

Because we use the cleanest products, you can expect longer burn time than other candles! For each ounce that is in your candle, you can expect to have 7-9 hours per ounce of burn time! Whoohoo!!

How strong are your scents?

We like to go big or go home....so our candles are designed to be strong in scent....but not overpowering. You know, like that friend that always smells great!

What if something happens to my candle?

We know things happen! If for some reason you have issues with your candle in the first 20 days after purchase, we will happily give you a full refund or repour your candle for you! Please note, we work hard during our classes to create a custom scent for you based off of your preferences. For that reason, we do not accept returns due to scent preferences after they have left our studio.

Workshop FAQ's

How many people can I have at a private workshop?

Our workshop space can accomodate up to 24 people in the studio at one time!

How much does it cost to pour candles with you?

Our workshop candle prices start at $40. This includes a seat at the table and everything you need to make your custom candle. We do have larger and more specialty containers available for purchase. With over 80+ containers, we have options for every decor style + budget.

Can we bring food and drink to our workshops?

Of course! You may bring in food + drink of your choice to our space. Please note that by bringing your own alcohol, you are assuming all alcohol related responsibility, both during your class and when your guests leave. We do ask that you clean up after yourself...Bagging any trash and removing this after your class.

When do I pay for my candle?

All candles are payed for during your workshop! We accept all major credit cards, apple pay and cash.

When can we pick up our candles?

Candles poured during our workshops are available to pick up the next open business day. Our hours are Wednesdays through Saturdays 11-2pm.

What if something happens to my candle?

We know things happen! If for some reason you have issues with your candle in the first 30 days after purchase, we will happily repour your candle for you! Please note, we work hard during our classes to create a custom scent for you based off of your preferences. For that reason, we do not accept returns due to scent preferences after they have left our studio.

I booked a workshop but now I need to cancel.

We’re sorry to have missed you! If you notify us with 48 hours + we will gladly offer your reservation fee towards another class date or a credit to shop our store! If 48 hours notice is not given for cancelation, unfortunately, we will not be able to give you credit. We are a small business and our classes require advance set up and supplies to make sure your event is amazing! Plus when our calendar is booked, others cannot secure a spot. Which in small business land costs staff, supplies, + money to accomplish! We hope you understand!

Refill FAQ's

What is your refill program?

We love our candles SO much that we want them to be reused over and over and over and over and...you get the picture! Which is why we have our refill program! You can bring in any of your used Bells Box Collective Containers and refill them with the scent of your choice!

How much is it to refill my candle container?

We charge a $1.50 per ounce (total between your scent + wax) to refill your container. Making your refill less than your initial purchase. Please note, there are some exceptions to this...like if you purchased a candle on sale or purchased a candle from us prior to 2022.

Can I refill a container that is not from Bells Box Collective?

Of course! We love pouring custom scents in all types of containers! We do have a slight up charge from our standard refill amount (this helps cover the cost of our scentristas measuring and ensuring that you have the correct measurements ! Please note that while we are happy to fill unique containers, we are not able to guarantee proper burns in all outside containers.

Can you refill my candle for me?

Girl we got you covered! If you have your scent on file with us, and would like for us to refill your candle with your signature scent, simply drop them off with us!

When can I refill my old containers?

You can refill your old containers without a reservation during our open hours Wednesday -Saturday 11-2 and you do not need a reservation! You are also welcome to bring in your old containers to your booked workshops (please see next FAQ for this)

I booked a private workshop and want to refill one of my old containers.

We always welcome your to bring in your old containers to refill during our workshops! We do ask that if it is during a private workshop that you also pour a new candle! We have created our refill program as a benefit to you so in order to continue to serve our community and offer private workshops, we ask that all attendees of our private classes pour new candles as well!

When can we pick up our refilled candles?

Candles refilled by YOU are available to pick up the next open business day. Our hours are Wednesdays through Saturdays 11-2pm. If you drop your candles off for us to pour, please allow 7 days for us to create and pour your candle.

How can i update my order?

Please email us athello@bellsboxcollective.com as soon as possible if you would like to cancel or change your order. We’ll do our best to process your request.

How do I go about placing a large order of 10+ candles?

Shoot us an email athello@bellsboxcollective.com and we'll go from there! If you are looking to have a candle branded for your event or business, checkout our Private White Label Candles!

When will my credit card be charged?

Your card is charged when you place your order!

What type of payment do you accept?

We accept Apple Pay, Shop, Paypal, Visa, MasterCard, Amex credit cards or debit cards.

What is your return policy?

All returns must be processed within 30 days of receiving the order. Please email hello@bellsboxcollective.com with your order number (found on your order confirmation email) to initiate a return or exchange.

How long does it take to process a return?

Please allow 5-7 business days for your refund to process after we receive your return.

What happens if I dont like the scent I ordered?

If you the scent is not what you expected or you do not enjoy the scent for any reason, please email us at hello@bellsboxcollective.com and we will process an exchange. We want you to be happy and satisfied with your Bells Box Collective purchase! Final sale or custom made items may not be returned. Final Sale is marked in the items title.

What are Private Label Candles

We create Private Label Candles for our favorite brands and businesses. We believe that scents carry magic + memories with them wherever they go. Which is why we love creating custom scents for our business friends to help take their brand to the next level! Whether you are creating them to gift to clients, to sell in your store, or as marketing materials to create an amazing customer experience. We help you design the most amazing scents to invoke that special feeling when your clients light them up that is 100% custom to you!

How much does it cost to create my own signature scent?

Creating your own PL candle is more than just throwing some scents into a container and calling it a day. We have crafted a super sweet process that is totally unique to Bells Box Collective to help your PL candle be an extension of your brand...from the custom scent to the ultra custom packaging. Which is why it is an investment.

To become a Private Label Client with us, our initial investment is $450. We do offer pricing tiers, the more you purchase, the more you save. And we offer low minimums so that we can work with businesses of all sizes!

Why do you ask for a $50 reservation fee for your consultation?

We are glad you asked! We asked everyone who wants to create a signature scent with us to pay a non-refundable $50 reservation fee.

This fee helps us cover our time that our scentristas take to help you dream up your signature scents and covers the cost for 3 mini candles that you take home (or have mailed to you) after your consultation.

If you choose to work with us, then we will also apply that $50 to your first order!!

This helps us protect our time and energy so that we can provide our clients the best experience and give them the most value.

I have already created my signature scent..but I need a client gift this week and I am out of my candles!

No worries! Once you have created your signature scent, we will always have that on file and you can pop by the studio to create a one off candle!

How custom is my scent? Will other businesses have the same scent?

We strive to make your scent as custom and as unique as your business! We work with you to create a scent that reflects your brand and we do not allow other businesses under our PL candle brand to have the exact scent as you.

Please note, this only applies to blends. We reserve the right to share one-off scents and our signature Bells Box Collective scents with other businesses. But don't worry...with over 200+ scents to blend and choose from!

I've picked my scent...how long does it take to receive my candles?

Once you have picked your scent (YAY!) then its time to for our little elfs to get busy in the Pink Candle Bar. Our current processing time is 4 weeks from the date that you select all of your customizations.... but we do always do our best to get our candles created as fast as possible!

What other products do you offer?

Once you become a private label candle client and hit our minimum payment, we offer smaller candle options, candle tins, room sprays, votives, diffusers, and holiday scents!
